Erica is 37 years old, was born in the United States, and immigrated to Israel in 2008. 
Erica lives on Moshav G’adish in the Tanachim Settlements, and until she was diagnosed with cancer, she worked as a manager of the birthing and young calf care in the region’s dairy farms. 

 

In May 2023, her doctors discovered lung cancer and a lower spine lesion in her body – which are a rare mutation that does not respond to normal treatments.  Since being diagnosed with the cancer, Erica has been receiving treatments in the Emek Hospital in Afula. 

 

Because Erica’s cancer type is so rare, from the beginning of her treatment she has been required to purchase medicines that are not covered by the Israel Health Insurance.  The treatments cost around 20,000 shekels per month, and this is not something she can afford to pay on her own. 

 

Erica’s family and friends have rallied to raise the funds needed until now to finance the beginning of her treatment in order to save her life.
